Still 46 miles to go, we need our energy!

Sumner and his son David devour a banana split at Kimball’s in Carlisle, the first of the three ice cream stops on the CSU Ice Cream Bicycle Tour held this past Sunday. Yes, they did completely finish all of the banana split. Watching Sumner perform this gastronomical achievement was just one of the many highlights of a great day of cycling. After Kimball’s they, along with others, went on to complete the remaining 46 miles of the bike tour and of course enjoyed more ice cream at the other two stops.

USATF-NE Annual Meeting is Thu, Sept 16
Wanted to give everyone early notice that the 2010 annual meeting of the New England Association of USA Track & Field is on September 16 (always third Thu of September) at 7:15pm at Doubletree Hotel in Waltham. Even numbered years are elections for the full board of officers, sports chairpersons, and athlete reps. CSU has 59 USATF members who are eligible to attend and vote. And if you are interested in participating more in our sports, there are definitely open positions, including Cross Country Chair and Athlete Reps. But you can run for any position you like. You can have an impact and see more behind the scenes. Two CSU members are on the Board of Governors already: Lisa Doucett is an Long-distance Running Chair and I am the Treasurer.
The meetings usually get 80-100 voting members so if you attend and vote you can also have a big impact on the slate of officers for the next two years.
